Hotel Orrington

Comfortable bed, free Internet, perfect climate control, attractive decor, and great amenities made this stay superb.

The hotel was extremely clean and well maintained; it was quiet. Staff was very friendly and professional. Location was excellent; many restaurants within walking distance. Overall, was a nice stay.

This is probably the BEST hotel in Evanston, even considering its competitive prices. The rooms are beautiful and well furnished, though they may look just a little too crowded. They have a hub with a keyboard, mouse and a LAN chord attached right on the table, how thoughtful! I really loved that feature. Plus, since I was a vegan traveling with food, they arranged for a microwave in the room (since rooms do not usually come with those). When I called them to ask if I could use their mini fridge (inside the room, stocked full of their goodies) to keep my food in too, they went even further and said that since there was not much space in the mini bar, they would send up a mini fridge just for my goodies. I was just amazed, for the staff usually have a fake sincerity around them at best, but here the staff was incredibly customer focused and very helpful. They have very comfortable bathrobes for us to wear, and the bathroom is stocked adequately with AVEDA products when I went (Mar '09). Though the products smell funny, they are good for the skin. The only (small) negative thing about this hotel is that they charge you even for local calls - I had assumed that local calls would be free, like in most hotels, but not here. ...read more
